Social Experiment:Dating Websites FAIL!

It has been some time since I posted a Blog Update and I have been Doing another Social Experiment since November and Wrapping it Up the end of January. With all the hub-bub around and being single I have been trying different online dating websites and have interesting results which nobody can disprove but many can agree with.
First Up is Zoosk. FAIL.
Not only do they have alot of Fake Profiles with fake photo’s (Like Celebrities for example, Photo’s from other dating sites even branded with that sites name). They Also Have Robo responses, when you sign up its free and you can post a photo and profile and search for who your interested in.
Then your given the chance of sending a message or a wink. If you send a wink (why do sites do this?) You get a auto response from the person thanking you for a wink but asking for a message instead. So you send a message, and weeks, months go by without a response. Now in between all these searches your given the option to BUY coins to boost your popularity so people become more interested in you and you come in higher in their search results.
Also if your a paid member thats when your Messages I feel are actually sent. I subbed for 1 month and send messages to 6 women. I got responses back asking me to tell them more, waited til the month was up and responded, mind you I got some responses Fast within a day and others within a few weeks. Not one response when I wasn’t a paying member.
Then I found some Celebrity photos of these single women, I reported it and received a nice cut and paste form response back that was written by a 8 year old.

So basically when you pay $20-$40 month subscription and an additional $20-$60 to boost your popularity your BUYING the right to actually communicate with someone or even finding out if your message was read and if the person was interested or not. I tried another free site and I spoke with one woman 3x over 4 months who told me she wasn’t interested but thanked me for writing to her. Thats more than I received from Match.com, Zoosk, or any other one and that was on Plenty Of Fish. Oh and theres those Zoosk Employees that are on site but dont respond either.

Match.com You see those commercials that are not actors But if you search those are ALL Actor’s. You can only wink for free. To Communicate or talk with someone or message anyone or get your messages you have to pay $20-$39 month. If your a free member You get no responses from Anyone. FAIL!!

Plenty of Fish: Alot of Fakes No way to specify searches, No responses except 1 out of 200 while being a paid member.  Even saw someone who I knew personally who was married and had no idea her photo was on there.

Then there is Eharmony $40 a month I tried this years ago first when it came out and back then it gave you up to 5 people to talk to and you spoke to each other without seeing a photo which wasn’t bad but everything was dragged out for 2 months before you would see a photo upon final conversation and then choose what to do. You have seen all the commercials again of actors (come on you never see inter-racial couples, Slim or overweight? What does that tell you?) I tried it again Early last year and you got photo’s right off the bat. No responses.

Here is the Kicker – It is not the Dating Sites Fault that they ROB you – It is the Members because Society has installed in everyone the “Model” look and few and in between are real people who get thrown aside and rarely get out there. I had paid a professional to write a profile that was rated as best possible profile guaranteed to provoke conversations with me. Along with my photo and I am an average guy. Not 1 response from any site. So I copied a very popular guys profile made a second account posted it without a photo. Lots of responses, when i posted a photo, Crickets.

How Flawed is our Society?

Then their is the other side of the coin. I Joined the Night Exchange a few years ago when I started this experiment. Its not a phone chat line more of a call up and listen to personal ads and if interested record a message and wait for a recorded response and if you click you can either chat on system or off system. Of course you have to pay $60 for a 1 hour block of time to only listen to your recorded messages. I met tons of people you talk to and get to know before seeing photographs and basing them on what society might think.

What are your Experiences?

Buffalo Wild Wings Review

Well Most of you Know I am a fan of Wings….Most of the Summer I goto every Bar I can find that serves Wings and after visiting some places on fire island I made the slide over today to Buffalo Wild Wings In Bay Shore, NY in the South Shore Mall. Now let me tell you looking at it from inside the mall is very deceiving as it looks so small, until you enter the main entrance out front and see how truly big it is.
When I entered I was Seated and had a Remarkably CUTE waitress named Amelia who basically Popped my Buffalo Cherry so to speak. Yes this was my first time and she was Gentle, Describing all the beer’s on tap and all the specials and such I found it hard to keep my eyes off her beautiful face.
So I ordered the Lunch Special Traditional Wings with Honey BBQ Sauce and a root beer, all the while fascinated by Amelia’s Smile.
I have to say the meal was delicious and the Wings were NOT spicy as you expect wings to be on Long Island but they definitely were Delicious. The Only Down side was Finishing and having to say goodbye to this Adorably Cute Girl if I was younger I would definitely have had to ask her out. But I will admit I tried to flirt with her and failed….
So if your ever in the Mood for Delicious Wings and find yourself near Bay Shore,NY, Head on over to the Mall and into Buffalo Wild Wings, Ask for Amelia and Enjoy the Most Delicious Wings in the Area.

Review: Friends with Benefits

So we Finally Got around to watching this Film Friends with Benefits which came out in 2011 with Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. First off let me say as a Guy growing up in the 80’s back then this is what 80’s-early 90’s seemed to be about here on Long Island,NY. Either woman at the time wanted a relationship or just sex and being myself never getting it right was either the one looking just for sex while women wanted a relationship or I wanted a relationship when they wanted sex. It varied from women to women not time to time, but we Enjoyed this Movie.

In a nutshull boy meets girl , both have had numerous bad relationships. They become friends so they are both in the Deadly friend Zone. They feel they are adult enough to have sex with no strings and no emotion which seems good in theory until after a while being friends and lovers intertwine and they both start falling for each other but AFRAID yes I said it AFRAID to tell the other one for fear it would end everything and they don’t take that chance. Finally they both mess up enough to end things which makes them realize they actually love each other, and end up together as a couple thats perfect for each other.

This movie is not about society, Looks, Sex, love or relationships as everything is today but about basic concept to not hold back and take  a chance. Everything is not what it seems and since you only live once you SHOULD take a chance and do what your heart says. Not your friends or society but what you feel is right.

We rate this a 7 out of 10 only because we would have loved to see more and there was a few slow points.

Sayville Maritime Seafood Festival

So it has been a few days and I finally managed to find some time to review this little festival we went to that happens every year on last weekend of August. If your a Sayville resident then you know what I mean, The Sayville Maritime Seafood Festival.

Now this was a first for me but I have attended Many Sayville Festival’s and street fairs over the years and I have to admit I was disappointed. On a scale of 1-10 I rated this about a 4, now for the reasons which I will list below

  • No Parking, you Had to be Bussed in via shuttles from four locations due to the event being on/near the Sayville Golf Course so there could be no parking since the course would loose customers and wasn’t big enough.
  • No Seating – There was live Music but unless you sat on the ground you couldn’t sit anywhere, Including the Elderly and you could not bring any chairs since you had to be shuttled. As for Food Area there was two Semi Large tents to sit and eat in shade and that was it.
  • Vendors- There was plenty of the usual festival Vendors clustered together, again no place to sit. There were 2 spots for Seafood which made me question what boxed seafood they were using. Since I love the Baked clam’s I was disappointed to learn they only had fried clams and nothing on the shell. Craft Vendor’s were few and clustered into a 3 row 3 column section of the grounds.

All in all the 5 hours we were there we were disappointed and the only thing that seemed to draw the biggest crowds was the pirate show for the kids….Right at the entrance blocking people from coming in easily. Disappointed in the $8 admission fee to come in and see some of the small ships on display, the stage with musicians, food vendors craft vendors and nothing else. Since when do you need to pay to get into a Subpar Festival? They do a Much better Seafood Festival right on Main Street in the Spring with Fresh food and lower prices. If you went we want to hear from you.

Single People’s LI Guide PT 1

Hello Single People !
I have a few upcoming article’s on the Long Island Single Scene and Have decided to share my thought’s and Opinions with you. But Please read the Following Disclaimer – The Following Is my Views and Opinion’s along with a few Comment’s from some patron’s I spoke with at various places. It is NOT the Majority of People’s honest belief’s or feelings as most people will lie about what they believe for reason’s of not wanting to be Labeled…

We Went for our last Saturday Night (not labor day weekend Saturday Night) But 2 weeks prior for our second time, the First Being in Beginning of July on a Saturday Night. We went to DUBLIN DECK out in Patchogue, LI, I am sure most of you have seen the commercial’s on TV showing it a great single’s scene place.
Well I arrived there at 7pm, watched a live band play as the DJ was packing up, Ate a good tasting Chicken Quesadilla and had a few beers while looking around.
Now as A Single Guy I am always on the Lookout for a place with alot of single woman, And few men as to maximize my chances of meeting someone. Now I do not know how this place is the other 6 days a week but this Saturday Night was horrid.

8pm : Band started packing up and since DJ long since left the only music was what was playing on a jukebox or radio, couldn’t tell where it was coming from. There was alot more men there then woman and the woman that were there were in group’s of 3-6 (which makes it a little hard to start a conversation with just 1 girl). I did speak to a waitress who was wearing an interesting shirt and she mentioned it was oddly slow but would pick up.
I don’t know about the picking up part but I hung around till 11 and I didn’t see anymore people coming in. Although it was the best Place I have seen that ranges in ages from 23-65 and had a pretty good sized dance floor and 2 bars with Good Food. I also started up a conversation with one girl about the place and was descended upon by her 2 girlfriends who commented how she was taken and not interested, (Yes Some girl’s are rude and don’t Allow their friends to talk with anybody they don’t approve of).

We Did speak to One guy who was there waiting to meet his friends there and told me the place is usually a sausage-fest and he wasn’t sure where all the woman were, but they weren’t there for weeks.
Now back in the day (90’s) it was easy to goto a club/bar back then and start a conversation with a girl without having to go thru the obstacle course of their girlfriends or guy friends. Today it seem’s to have gotten worse, although I will admit I can’t talk to woman and it’s not a confidence issue either but thats another 6 blogs.

Back to Dublin Deck, This is the second time we were there and the bartender’s took care of us rather quick, seemed like they only really chatted among themselves and friends or regular’s at the bar and I found myself going out of my way just to get someone’s attention to leave a tip. The Food was good from what I ate and saw and the music was definitely good.

As for summer Bar’s I would have to give this place a 5 out of 10 only because it was not single guy friendly. Come on when are we gonna have a bar that has a Men’s Night? The majority of people at the bars nowadays are men, and single woman who might want to try the single bar scene would follow. There really isn’t much around anymore for single guys unless you want to pay tons of money for those flashy fake dating services.

Look for our next Guide Coming in a few days…Including Sayville Maritime Seafood Festival…and others…

Feel free to share this blog or comment or debate me on it…
